…says 2022 has been challenging
Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, has urged the people to appreciate God for a successful 2022, and for keeping them alive to witness the year 2023.
Jatau in a New Year message to the people congratulated all those who made it to the year 2023 and admonished them to consider each moment, day, and year as the product of God’s grace, mercies and love.
He said, “the Year 2022 has come and gone, it has been very challenging, tasking and eventful. There was palpable fear, and apprehensions everywhere due to rising insecurity, economic hardship, and slot of maladies, but the grace of God has sustained us bringing us to the year 2023. We appreciate God for sustaining us and for renewing our hope in the nation Nigeria, having seen the light rays at the end of the tunnel.
“May I enjoined us all, never to relent in prayers and in our determination to survive as a people and a nation. We need now, than ever before to pray fervently, and be committed to the cause of Nigeria by shunning elements of discord, hatred and hegemony, but to embrace one another in love, unity and accommodation of our diversity.
” The Year 2023, is even more pregnant with a lot of sensitivities as it is a year of general elections. We should thread with care so that we do not allow our personal interests consume our national and collective interests. Our destiny is in our hands, therefore, we must handle it positively for our good and the good of posterity.
” We appreciate the contributions of our Community Leaders, Religious leaders, Politicians, Members of the Business Communities, and all well meaning individuals who have shown unreserved commitment to the development of humanity. It is our hope that, the support you have accorded us in the year past shall be replicated for the good of all.
” The APC Governments in Gombe State and Nigeria have done a lot to the people in terms of delivering democracy dividends, and have transformed the lives of the people. Given the opportunity to be re-elected, we are ready to do more, by continuously touching the lives of the people positively.
” It is our prayer that God may answer our collective prayers to heal our land of kidnapping for rituals and ransome, terrorism, drugs and political thuggery, clashes of any kind and economic hardship that have bedevilled us for years. May God in his infinite mercies and love make our 2023 more better than the year 2022,no matter how glorious it was.”
While wishing the people, a prosperous New Year, the Deputy Governor reminded them never to forget to collect the Permanent Voters Card in readiness to vote in the forthcoming general elections.
