Gombe Gov Appoints LG Caretaker Chairmen

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Caretaker Chairmen for the 11 Local Government Councils in the State.
Recall that following the expiration of their tenure on 21st December 2022, Yahaya advised them to handover to the council secretaries of their various local government’s.
Our Correspondent reports that Inter-Party Advisory Council on 29th December 2022, threatened to institute legal case, should the governor announce caretakers, instead of conducting proper council polls.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, who conveyed the Governor’s approval on Tuesday, said all the appointments take immediate effect.
Njodi announced the new appointees as follows; Abubakar Usman Barambu – Akko LGA, Garba Umar Garus – Balanga LGA, Margret Bitrus – Billiri LGA, Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa – Dukku LGA
Ibrahim Adamu Cheldu – Funakaye LGA.
Others include; Aliyu Usman Haruna – Gombe LGA, Faruk Aliyu Umar – Kaltungo LGA, Ibrahim Buba – Kwami LGA, Salisu Shu’aibu Dendele – Nafada LGA, Yohanna Nahari – Shongom LGA and Garba Usman – Yalmatu Deba LGA.
