2023: Gombe Gov casts ballot, urges INEC to digitise the process

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has cast his ballot at polling unit 010 Yahaya Umaru, Jekadafari Ward, calling on Independent National Electoral Commission to digitise the process.
The Governor lauded the smooth conduct of electorates, noting that the process could be improved to make it easier for more citizens’ participation.

He disclosed this shortly after casting his vote expressed optimism about the smooth conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly election.
He said, “So far so very good, I have not heard any complaint. Even if there are such it will be addressed by the law enforcement agencies. I know that a proper foundation has been laid and the people are law abiding and we have asked them to abide by the law so that the election will go peacefully.”
Speaking about the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, he added, “it is a very good initiative and going forward I urge INEC to be more innovative so that that the initiative will be improved so that when we digitise all process, we have it easier for everybody.”
Yahaya, also stressed his willingness to felicitate with winners of today’s poll, adding that the people have been sensitised on orderliness.
“I made a public address yesterday (Friday), and I ask people to remain behind the bounds of the laws and I believe they have heard all and they will do so. I pray we will go through the process and celebrate the successes with whosoever that emerges victorious today,” he added.
