2023 Presidential/National Assembly Elections: Gombe Deputy Gov, wife cast votes at hometown, Gurma

The Presidential and National Assembly Elections were conducted successfully at Gurma, Kulani in Balanga Local Government Area.

Gurma , Kulani in Balanga LGA is the hometown of Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, the Gombe State Deputy Governor, and the place where he cast his vote in performance of his civic right as a Nigerian.
Voters were seen trooping the voting centre at Gurma Primary School, venue of the election, with keen interest and show of enthusiasm as they enjoy the prospect of coming to perform their franchise.
Jatau cast his vote at polling unit 006, Gurma 1, in the premises of Gurma Primary School, Kulani- Degri- Sikkam ward, Balanga LGA.
He described the election as peaceful, and successful against the apprehensions of possible frictions before the election.
He said the outcome and enthusiasm exhibited by the people was a show of the interest and commitment they have to be part of the decision of electing leaders especially that the processes actually showed that their votes shall count.
He however observed that the election officials should be adequately trained and that there should be extra BVAS as standby to ensure blocking any loophole that may arise in the course of the exercise.
He commended the voters for show of maturity and high sense of commitment towards ensuring smooth and hitch-free electoral process.
Speaking on the turnout of the voters Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau expressed delight that the people are very educated on the need to exercise their civic right in electing their leaders.
The wife of the state Deputy Governor,Mrs Deborah Daniel Jatau cast her vote at 007 Polling Unit, Talasse Balanga Local Government Area.
She expressed happiness that she was able to fulfill her civic obligation of partaking in the course of electing the next President of Nigeria and Members of the National Assembly.
She advised the people to be peaceful and remain calm through out the election period for a successful transition .
A voter, elder Statesman, one time commissioner and a chairman of the local government service commission, Alh. Halilu Galadima, and some anonymous voters described the process as fast, smooth and transparent.
They however advised the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) to educate the voters very well on the rudiments of the election, especially on how to identify the boxes meant for each office in view of the fact that most of the voting population in the rural areas are illiterates.
In order to observe the rules of the election the Deputy Governor trekked about a kilometer and waited in the queue for more than two hours to wait for his turn to vote.
