70 Farmers Benefit from FG’s Water Pumps in Lassa Community
No fewer than 70 farmers in Lassa community of Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State have received water pumps to support their farming activities.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr.Mohammed mahmood Abubakar, who was represented Mr YAKUBU Haxi Moheba, said the Federal Government has policies geared towards making Agriculture profitable to farmers.
Our Correspondent reports that the empowerment programme was organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, under federal department of Agricultural Extension.
The Minister said the empowerment programme would improve the living standard of people in Lassa community.
“But we are hear today in lassa one of the affected areas, to improve on their agricultural activities, and marketing as well,” Abubakar said.
Also speaking, Director Federal Department of Agricultural extension Engr. Frank Satumati Kudla, who was represented by Mr Aliyu Ibrahim Gula said the distribution of the materials was based on the level of vulnerability of farmers in the area.
Kudla said, “The materials will serve as means of changing their life style by reducing food unavailability, increase access to good food ,and its quality, poverty eradication to mention but few.”
The Director also used the medium of communication to call on beneficiaries to make proper use of what have been given to them, adding that “And to those who could not get it they should exercise patience for next they will get their own.”
Kudla, while lauding the good plans that Federal Government of Nigeria has for farmers, through Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, also commended the Director of Federal Department of Agricultural Extension for sensitising ang empowering youths, women groups.
