ADC Youth Council Condemns party leadership over Obi/Datti endorsement
The National Youth Council of African Democratic Congress on Wednesday, condemned the endorsement of the presidential candidate of Labour Party Peter Obi.
The council which is an appendage of ADC, said its members were not consulted before the National Chairman Chief Ralph Nwosu, threw the support of the party to another candidate.
According to a tweet by the group, it wondered why the endorsement took place when the party has a valid presidential candidate Dumebi Kachukwu.
Recall that recently, Nwosu through the star alliance partners Nigeria Mothers for Good Governance, Fulani United, Nigeria Artisans, League of Imams, Nigeria Traders, Yoruba United, Mega Political Coalition, Kanuris United, Almalgamated Coalitions, CEG Groups and Nigeria Legions United, endorsed Obi’s presidential ambition
The tweet said, “Our attention has been drawn to the so called endorsement of @PeterObi by @ChiefRalphs which we are not part of. As you know the Youth Council is an integral part of the party, yet no member of the council was consulted. We are calling on the general public to disregard the purported endorsement.”
In an interview with PERISCOPE NIGERIA, Director New Media Salisu Abdulkadir, of the council confirmed the tweet, adding that the decision of Nwosu and the Board of Trustees Chairman should be disregarded.
