Gombe Deputy Gov encourages young people to unveil their hidden treasures through books
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, has encouraged knowledgeable people in the society to endeavour to put their knowledge to writing through publishing books so that their knowledge would be useful even to generations unborn.


Jatau gave the encouragement during a book launch published by Barrister Samson Alfayo Kwarah, titled “ The Bible, The Qur’an, The Law and same Sex Marriage in Nigeria, held at the Gombe State University New Multipurpose Hall.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Jack Tasha, the deputy governor said it was fascinating to see young people like Kwarah publish a book of this magnitude at this age and encouraged other young men and women to borrow a leave from.
He was optimistic with the choice of the topic, saying Same Sex Marriage has been one of the effect of globalisation especially on Africans but he hopes the book will reshape the minds of Nigerians and by extension Africans who are contemplating joining the ugly trend.
In a remark, the former acting Chief Judge of the state Justice Beatrice Iliya, commended the author for the good work he has done on the book, saying the book would last on archives of many libraries because of its substance and encouraged other talents to emulate the author.
The book reviewer Dr Adamu Izang Madaki, who is a lecturer with the University of Jos, Plateau State, was optimistic with the good work of the author, saying that he would be celebrated in the near future because of the fundamental issues he has captured in the book and the way he has handled them with expertise
Madaki said, the 175 page book has explicitly touched the stand of Islam, Christianity and the Nigerian constitution as regards the prohibition of same sex marriage.
In a goodwill message, Ambassador Stanley, commended the author for developing a book that could effect a change in the society and expressed his happiness for a young lawyer who has taken his time to analyse one of the most horrible practices that is ravaging the society and called on other youths to emulate him.
In a remark the author of the book Kwarah, who hailed from Tal, of Billiri Local Government Area, appreciated all for the support and explained that he chose to write on Same Sex Marriage, because it is one of the ugly trend that is growing around the world which contradicts religions and cultures of Nigerian people with the hope of finding a lasting solution to the problem.
