Gombe NSCDC nabs 40-year-old for raping 12 boys

A 40-year-old Usman Mohammed, has been nabbed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command for luring no fewer than 12 children whose ages range from five to ten years old.
Mohammed, who is a resident of Liji in Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, specialised in having carnal knowledge of minors, adding that he was introduced to same sex intercourse by his Malam (Islamic teacher) as an 18-year-old Almajiri student in Kano.
The father of three with one wife, said he regretted his actions, while pleading for forgiveness from relevant authorities.
“I learnt homosexuality from my Almajiri scholar Mustapha Dangurugu, around Brigade at the age of 18 years in Kano State. I’m regretting my action and I’m pleading for forgiveness,” he said.
Another suspect paraded, 28- year -old Umar Mohammed, the malam was alleged to have raped five year old five year old pupils before their parents could take them home,” I have learnt my lesson in a hard way, I will not repeat it again,” Mohammed pleaded.
Parading the suspects at the State headquarters Commandant Waziri Goni, said upon interrogation 40-year-old Mohammed, confessed to the crime, adding that the suspect disclosed that he was introduced into homosexuality to become rich.
Goni, noted that out of 12 boys raped allegedly raped, one is currently at large, while the rest are available.
“Unfortunately, he has not become rich. How can God bless such efforts of someone taking advantage of young boys. He has three children and a wife but prides himself in raping children in an attempt to get rich, he has remained a nail cutter,” Goni said.
Goni, while lamenting the rate of sexual violations urged parents to take responsibility of their children, adding that, “no body can take care of your children better than you. Parents must desist from handing their responsibility to outsiders.”
