INEC, Security Agencies, Political Parties Inspect Ballot Papers In Gombe
….REC assures of smooth conduct of elections on Saturday

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday in Gombe, inspected ballot papers ahead of Saturday polls in the state.

The sensitive materials were kept at the Central Bank in the state, political parties, observers and security agencies were amongst those that carried out inspection before it was taken across the 11 Local Government Areas of the state.
Confirming the sensitive materials, Resident Electoral Commissioner Ibrahim Umar disclosed that the commission is prepared and ready to conduct a free and credible presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
According to him, the display of the items signified the takeoff of electioneering process, adding that the commission expects the usual cooperation from stakeholders to deliver.
He said, “Is all the preparation for the 2023 general elections for the Presidential and National Assembly Election coming up on the 25th. We are at the Central Bank Gombe monitoring the distribution of the sensitive materials.”
Speaking about the received items he added, “all the materials for the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives we have received all the materials. From here they will be distributed to the various Local Government Areas and all the Electoral Officers are here they will move it to the 11 Local Governments after checking.”
While assuring members of the public of security during and after the exercise Umar said, “My message to electorates; INEC is ready. Elections will take place they should come out and perform their franchise without any molestation. The should desist from unnecessary fights. I’m satisfied with the security preparations as you can see I’m together with the members of Inter-agency consultative committee on elections security we are good to go.”
