Investigation: Gombe CP pleads for deployment of CSPs,SPs
Gombe State Commissioner of Police Oqua Etim, has implored the Police authorities to deploy senior officers within the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.
Etim, said this when attended to would hasten administration of justice especially in conducting impeccable criminal investigation.
He made the plea on Friday, in his address while welcoming the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 12 Wale Olokode at the command headquarters.
According to him, the state investigation department was devoid of requisite manpower that would spur the desired performance.
“Like Oliver twist I want to humbly request the AIG to use his good office to post senior officers of the ranks of Chief Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police to Gombe State Police command to help the state investigation department.
“The current state investigation department are mainly of officers in the rank of Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Police who are holding forth as head due to manpower deficit. If this request is graciously approved this will greatly improve our investigative capacity, which is the number one priority of the Nigerian police force.”
On his part, Olokode lauded the Commissioner for piloting the affairs of the state, despite the inadequacies, adding that there would never be adequate manpower.
Olokode disclosed that what was required was the ability to manage the available resources.
“It shows the commissioner knows what he is doing,” he added.
