Just In: Tinubu’s North-East Coordinator Gov Yahaya, loses Polling unit to Atiku

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Saturday failed to deliver polling unit to All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
Our Correspondent reports that the governor’s polling unit, Umaru Yahaya 010 which was presided by Meshack Thomas, witnessed tensed atmosphere as party loyalists expressed mixed reactions, to the triumph of Atiku Abubakar, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party.
Thomas announced, “PDP 215, APC 186, NNPP 10, Labour Party 4.”
Yahaya is the North-East Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council.
The governor who had earlier voted in company of his wife Asma’u Yahaya, expressed optimism that the process would remain rancour-free.
According to him, he would felicitate with winners after the election, “I made a public address yesterday (Friday), and I ask people to remain behind the bounds of the laws and I believe they have heard all and they will do so. I pray we will go through the process and celebrate the successes with whosoever that emerges victorious today,” he added.
While expressing optimism about the smooth conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections said the security agencies are capable of maintaining peace.
He said, “So far so very good, I have not heard any complaint. Even if there are such it will be addressed by the law enforcement agencies. I know that a proper foundation has been laid and the people are law abiding and we have asked them to abide by the law so that the election will go peacefully.
“Speaking about the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, he added, “it is a very good initiative and going forward I urge INEC to be more innovative so that that the initiative will be improved so that when we digitise all process, we have it easier for everybody.”
