NNPP Chairman Umar, Defects To APC, Meets Gombe Gov
The Chairman of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), Abdullahi Umar, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Recall that the NNPP has taken the major opposition status in the State House of Assembly, as it has taken over from Peoples Democratic Party with four in the 24-member house.
Our Correspondent that in recent times Gombe NNPP through its gubernatorial candidate Khamisu Mailantarki has welcomed thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a press statement, made available to our Correspondent, by Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli, said the chairman defected after meeting with Governor Yahaya.
“Umar announced his defection after meeting Governor Inuwa at his residence today,” the statement read.
