ADC Reps candidate petitions DSS over impersonation, manipulation of election results
The candidate of African Democratic Congress Zakari Garba, has petitioned Department of State Services over an alleged impersonation and manipulation by Abdulmumunini Hassan, during the recently conducted Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Garba, contested Ningi/Warji Federal Constituency in Bauchi State.
According to a letter dated 28th February 2023, which was obtained by our correspondent on Friday, Garba alleged that Hassan a member of the All Progressives Congress impersonated to be an agent.
Garba disclosed that Hassan deceived voters, adding that he told electorates that ADC and APC, were in agreement on choice of candidate.
Garba’s statement partly read, “I’m Zakari Garba Zakari, House of Representatives candidate under African Democrats Congress Party ADC in Ningi/Warji, Bauchi State. I’m accusing one Abdulmumuni Hassan ( Mai Chemist) on Stealing My party Agent tag even without the personages who he gave our tag photographs and names is contrary to what is in INEC Portal.
“Secondly, I’m accusing him of causing election manipulation using the same tag that guarantee’s any person who wears agent tag to access anywhere, move freely including the voting point where people will be guiding who to vote as we all know.”
“I’m requesting your organisation to investigate why he organised groups of people and told them I directed him to say we were liaising with All Progressives Congress.
“As a good Nigerian who respects the rule of law I’m pleading for full investigation on this matter, For me I know the Damage he caused my ambition.I have all the evidence to back of my claim,” the statement added.
