The Lagos State Governor,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has cleared 19 out of the 20 Local Government Areas of the state in the governorship election held on Saturday, March 18.

The complete result of the 20 LGAs were made early on Monday at the Independent National Electoral Commission collation centre in Yaba, Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu, who polled a total of 762,124 votes in the election, defeated 15 other candidates to retain his governorship seat in the state.

The candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, had the second highest votes with 312,329 votes.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Olajide Adediran, clinched the third highest number of votes of 62,449.

While the incumbent governor cleared 19 out of 20 Local Government Areas, his opponent, Rhodes-Vivour, won in only one LG, Amuwo-Odofin.

The state Returning Officer, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, has officially declared Sanwo-Olu as the winner.
