JUST BEFORE YOUR INKED FINGER DROP ON THE BALLOT PAPER OR BEFORE YOU TAKE THE CRUCIAL PENALTY KICK ON SATURDAY: THINK DR ALEX CHIOMA OTTI
by Agodi KANU
Voting is a process of communicating the choice of your preferred candidate in an election through collecting ballot paper, inking your index finger, thumbing the ballot paper for your preferred candidate, carefully folding it and dropping it in the box. The decision point is thumbing and thumbing right. The thumbing process could be valid or invalid and so requires care and tact to avoid wasting your vote. The crux of this piece is thumbing, the power and paradox of thumbing. Like a penalty kick taker in a football match especially crucial and tensed, thoughts flow through the mind of the taker. Distractions from spectators through cheering and jeering could affect the taker psychologically and mentally. A bit of confusion and indecision could temporarily envelope him but the kick must be taken. Same applies to most people during voting but once in cubicle, the voting must take place in one way or another.
You are privileged to read this piece but many of your family members, friends, colleagues, dependents, staff and foe may not be reading it. You’re an influencer as they listen, believe and obey you. Convincingly tell them why they must thumb print for Dr Alex Chioma Otti. Tell them it will better their lives and reduce pressure on you. Tell them the sad narratives currently associated with Abia will melt like wax. Tell them to courageously collect money, salt, rice, indomie which distracted will shamefully share before voting but also tell them to enter the cubicle to vote for their future by voting Mama Papa Pikin. Tell them no one enters the cubicle with camera and no one have the right to join or watch them as they vote. Tell them that because you have never either failed or disappointed them and that you are leading them into better life. Tell them that tomorrow is here today.
Dear Abia compatriots, fellow victim of bad and irresponsible leadership, please tell them to remember the following as they join thousands of other captive victims and prisoners of conscience to redefine, recover and restore the dignity of our dear State of Abia. Tell them that history and posterity beckons on them to jointly redeem our battered and bastardized Abia with departed glory. Tell them that truly God departed from us because of the iniquities of our *rulers* hence we are no more *God’s Own State* . However, assure them that their votes represent the wish of God who will redeem our lost status and return us as His State. Please tell them that the votes will part the red sea which will create escape route for Umuchineke while drowning the Pharaohs and heartless Egyptians. Tell them that help has come and the channel of help rests on Dr Alex Chioma Otti.
Umunnem nde Abia, remember these when the INEC ink come upon your index finger (finger after the thumb) with your gaze on the box like a football star waiting in front of a goalkeeper to take a penalty kick and this time, in front of Mama Papa Pikin. Like a trigger backed with sadness just know that you are speaking for the underaged, vulnerable and those this present Abia government sent to early graves….. thumb Mama Papa Pikin. It will stir the spirit of the dead and cause them to gyrate in their untimely graves. Your vote represent a burden of hope for greater and better tomorrow of Abia.
