MAUTH honours pioneer CMD
The management of the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, has conferred an award of excellence on the outgoing Chief Medical Director, Professor Auwalu Abubakar.
The MAUTH Board Chairman, Dr Habiba Umar presented the award to the former CMD, in Yola.
She described the eight-year tenure of Abubakar as as “eventful, full of developmental strides”.
She enumerated some of the feat achieved to include construction of additional medical wards, procurement of ultra sound equipment and improvement of staff welfare.
“Abubakar contributed positively towards achieving the cardinal objectives of the facility.
“He has done his best, maintain excellent relationship with staff and the management team.
“The CMD is an icon of progress and transparent, who is committed to his duties in providing excellent healthcare services to the people of Adamawa,” she said.
The Head of Service of (HOS) in the state, Mr Edgar Amos congratulated the recipient of the award for ensuring positive transformation of the tertiary health facility.
He lauded Abubakar for his contributions towards upgrading of the facility to a teaching hospital.
Responding, Abubakar thanked senior and other cadre of personnel for their support to the management of the hospital.
While commending Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, for his support to the hospital, Abubakar urged the staff to cooperate with the incoming CMD for sustainable development.
Abubakar, a consultant pediatrician was appointed CMD of the MAUTH in 2015.
