NDE commences EFCC training in Taraba

The National Directorate of Employment, on Tuesday commenced the Enterprise and Finance Counselling Clinic training for 65 unemployed youth in Taraba state.
Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, the Director General of the Directorate, while speaking at the opening ceremony of the program in Jalingo said, the idea was the Federal Government through the Directorate desire to provide opportunity for business persons facing challenges to obtain solutions through experience sharing with other businessmen.
Abubakar who was represented by Alhaji Danjuma Shehu, Taraba state coordinator of the Directorate, also explained that the the clinic was also to guide them in solid business management as the statistics of unemployment in Nigeria was growing high by the day.
“It is important to note that more universities are emerging which mean more graduates would churned out of these universities to join the already bloated labour market. This training is to guide you in solid business management as the statistics of unemployment in Nigeria is growing high by the day.
“The Enterprise and Finance Counseling Clinic NDE-EFCC), concept was borne out of the desire to provide opportunity for business person facing challenges to obtain solutions through experience sharing with other businessmen or through the counseling sessions with the established business persons.
“The clinic also seeks to guide you in solid business management. You are aware that statistics of unemployment in Nigeria is high, more universities are emerging which mean more graduates would be churned out of these universities to join the already bloated labour market. This particular situation can only result to frustration and give rise to various anti- social behaviours such as, youth restiveness, prostitution, robbery, kidnapping, and other socials resulting from joblessness.
“The unemployment situation has reached an stemming situation that demands immediate solution. It is obvious that alternatives to white collar jobs would be the way out and that is why the Federal Government through the National Directorate of Employment have decided to tackle the challenge by creating the NDE- EFCC concept,” he explained.
The DG also thanked Taraba State government for creating an enabling environment for the Directorate to operate within its mandate.
