NMA congratulates Gombe Gov over successful re-election

The Nigerian Medical Association, Gombe State chapter, has congratulated Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, over his victory at the recently conducted guberatorial election.
According to a press statement signed by the Chairman; Dr Abdulsalam Khalifa and Secretary; Dr Daniel Apollos, the victory was well deserved.
Our correspondent reports that Yahaya about a week ago, polled 342,821 to emerge the winner having defeated his closest challenger and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Muhammad Barde, who scored 233,131 and the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s Khamisu Mailantarki, who recorded 19,861 votes to come distant third.
The chapter while lauding the Governor’s accomplishments, extolled Yahaya’s developmental strides in the past three years, stressing that electorates merely rewarded him for his hard work.
The statement partly read, “The Chairman and the entire congress of the Nigerian Medical Association Gombe state chapter here by write to congratulate you on your reelection as the Executive Governor of Gombe in the recent general election.
“Your Excellency Sir, the Nigerian Medical Association Gombe state chapter, is not unmindful of your numerous achievements in the health-care sector. We pray that God guides you and give you the ability, strength and wisdom to consolidate on those achievements.
“Finally, your Excellency Sir, the association is ready to support you in any possible way we can for your government to have another successful second tenure. The electorates have spoken loud and clear and the stamp of acceptance is clear for all to see.
“Accept the assurance of our highest regards as we pray that the Almighty God continue to shower his blessings on you Sir.”
