A repentant Boko Haram member Muhammad Abba, has apologised on behalf of his counterparts to Nigerians for the wrongs done, adding that the oath taken would purge them from further ills.
Abba noted that even if they got away with security agencies and the needed punishment, they would not escape the wrath of God.

He made these remarks on Saturday during the graduation of 594 ex terrorists, out of which 590 are Nigerians, while three are Nigeriens, and one Chadian.
According to him, apology would be rife at the moment, following the untold hardship they once caused their various communities.
Abba said, “We apologise for our various wrongs to our communities, and everyone sitting here. To extend our apology to all and sundry in the various communities that we come from that we are really very sorry and we are not going back to the very atrocities.
“We have taken the oath of allegiance to our peaceful, loving country Nigeria, we know the consequences of taking an oath with the Quran or with a Holy Bible, if you betray your oath Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, will not be happy with you will punish you even if you escape the security of Nigeria, you can’t escape Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, we are certain of this. We will be faithful, loyal, faithful to the allegiance and oath we have taken.”

While assuring authorities that they would be peace ambassadors, lauded the President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the De-radicalisation, Rehabilitation and Re-integration camp, adding that he won’t regret the establishment of the initiative.
“Sir, when we came to this came I saw the status which is olive branch. We the product of this very facility, if we get back to our home we will be the people that will represent the ideals of this camp, we will extend hand of peace to everyone because we have understood that there is no culture that is more than being human.
“Final message to Mr president is that the efforts on this project he will never regret it and we will go back and our action will proof to those that criticism him before will come to tell him thank you Mr president for this decision; the peace we had lost we have got it back as everyone now sleep with two eyes closed,” Abba added.

On his part, Coordinator Operation Safe Corridor Major General Joseph Maina, decried the impact of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East region, adding that it has continued to impact negatively on the lives and livelihoods of the people thereby impacting negatively on development.
“It’s on record that the activities of these groups have led to the displacement of over 2million people internally and so many others driven into neighbouring countries as refugees, recognising the limits of purely military solution and the urgent need to end the untold suffering caused by the sufferings the Federal Government introduced operation safe corridor as a non-kinetic multi agency approach in the support of military actions since 2015.”
