The Gombe State Coordinator Shettima/Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council Jamilu Gwamna, has said he did not threatened mothers that they would lose their children should they vote for Peoples Democratic Party.
Gwamna made this disclosure in Gombe in an exclusive chat with our correspondent, while refuting allegations by PDP’s campaign office spokesman Ayuba Aluke, that he threatened parents in Bolari West, over votes.
Aluke, while briefing newsmen recently alleged that the APC chieftain threatened parents with death, should their children vote the opposition PDP.
According to Gwamna, the opposition PDP has shown desperation overtime, stressing that as the reason why their thugs made an attempt at ballot box in the last election.
He noted that during the previous election thugs loyal to the opposition PDP attempted to snatch the ballot boxes, stressing that would not wish any Gombe person death, not to mention someone from Bolari West.
Gwamna said, “I went to canvass for votes for my party ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election. It an area I’m proud of because it’s an area I’m proud of. It a street that is dear to my heart. I went to gather people to seek for their support for my party. I said people should come out and vote for Governor Inuwa. It’s was a passionate appeal, there was no where I mentioned that someone’s mother will give birth to another child.
“Last time the Peoples Democratic Party brought alot of thugs to that area, only warned them that this time around those area boys, the thugs that come to hover around the ballot box they should not dare do that because anyone who comes near thar ballot box that day we are going to remove him and I used the word in Hausa and they now misinterpreted that to mean that they are going to be killed that is nonsense.”
Commenting on the spread of fake news, he said, “this is a typical PDP desperate moves, their desperate propaganda, to be desperate to twist something that is not there is really the height of incivility, this is not politics, it’s just desperation.
“People should look at my antecedents to know that I don’t mean harm to anybody especially the people of Gombe State. The people of Gombe State are dare to my heart and I will not engage in anything that will lead to loss of lives for anything.”
On the chances of the APC in the gubernatorial election, “by the grace of God we are on a good footing and I believe we will be successful on Saturday. We will be victorious on Saturday inshallah.”
