Jatau visits Adamawa over wedding of Deputy Gov’s daughter
…calls on couple to make their marital life a model for upcoming couples
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, on Saturday honoured his Adamawa State counterpart, Chief Crowther Seth, by attending the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Motapwa Seth Crowther.

The marriage was solemnised by Rev Pwaveno David Makapi, at the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, Numan Cathedral, Adamawa State.
Former Miss Motapwa Seth Crowther, was married to Mr Bala Isa Yakubu, in a grand style society wedding where the high and the lowly adorned in colourful dresses were in attendance.

Performing the wedding, Rev. Makapi, said, having fulfilled all conditions to be joined in Holy matrimony, the two has become one, pointing out that “what God has joined together, let no man put asunder”.
Earlier, while presenting the bride on behalf of the family, an uncle to Miss Motapwa, Mr.Dasayemo Ananze Sejina, said now that our daughter has proved that she is matured enough and of age to choose for herself a partner to stay together, they have no objections than to support her prayerfully hence the reason of presenting her to Bala praying that he will properly take care of her.
Delivering the Sermon, Apostle Titilayo Adewumi, drew her text from the Holy Bible book of Genesis Chapter Two verse Seven, and from verses fifteen to Twenty Four, where she admonished the new couple to cherish each other, to think alike, reason alike and avoid gossips who will come into their live to create problems.
She also made reference from the Gospel book of Acts, Chapter Eighteen Verse Twenty Four, where she enjoined couple to learn from the Biblical Priscilla and Acquila, who were models to be emulated in living a godly marriage life.
The Apostle advised that Christian homes should be a place where people would come and experience the love of God, urging all Christian couples to exhibit biblical virtues for their homes to be peaceful and successful.
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, congratulated the parents, and the couples for witnessing the historic day of their lives.
He said, “there is nothing that brings immense joy for parents to bring up their children to maturity and witness them marry in accordance with the moral and religious standard of the society. I therefore congratulate the parents, and the couples for this great achievement.
“Let me use this opportunity to call on the couples to continue to live exemplary lives for those coming after them to emulate them.
“The society needs people like you who will become role models to the upcoming generations, so as to desist from shameful and borrowed traditions where youth’s engage in illicit and immoral behaviours. We are so proud of what you have done today. Mr Bala is not marrying a fellow man, neither is Miss Motapwa marrying a fellow lady. This is the way we were brought up in line with the scriptures. We should continue to preach against this alien cultures that only ends up ruining our land, but embrace godly virtues.
“We pray God Almighty bless your marital journey with children, abundance and everything noble for you to achieve in your future success in all your endeavours.”
In their separate short remarks, both parents of the groom and that of the bride Mr & Mrs Isa Yakubu and Chief & Mrs Crowther Seth, expressed overwhelming happiness for witnessing their children’s life journey in marriage, saying that God would bless their marriage as they wished them a peaceful family.
The gathering drew well wishers from far and near, amongst whom were political stalwarts, religion and traditional leaders who graced the occasion.
The marriage ceremony also observed songs of praises and presentation of marriage certificate, and later culminated into a wedding reception.
