Copy of the expulsion letter made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA

The party executives staged their position on Monday in Jalingo while reacting to a letter purported to have expelled the Senator-elect from APC over anti-party activities.

They claimed that those behind the said expulsion are not members of APC so, doesn’t have the authority to expel a genuine member of the party.

According to the Executives led by the Chairman, Alhaji Mijinyawa Salihu, and Secretary Hon. Bulus Sabo, expressed that the purported expulsion was a criminal action perpetrated by a group of criminals led by one Sirajo Sallau,  parading themselves as Executives of the party for Takum local government.

Our correspondent reports that Sallau had on Saturday issued a press release as chairman APC Takum local government as signed by his executives, expelling the senator-elect for Taraba south senatorial district, David Jimkuta.

“We wish to state here that APC in Takum local government area of Taraba State has no factional executive. We equally want to put on record that the group who signed the purported expulsion of our Senator -Elect are not members of APC in Takum local government, they are rather some mercenaries recruited from an opposition party by some aggrieved members of the party who lost out in both primaries and the governorship elections of the 2023 polls.

“Ordinarily, we shouldn’t have responded to the purported fake letter of expulsion being circulated by the group, but our response was neccessitated by the fact that a section of people may be misled to believe whatever trash they come across in the social media. We wish to state in a very clear and loud voice, that we the Executive of APC, Takum local government of Taraba State have PASSED OUR VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on our Senator-Elect, Hon. David Jimkuta.

“We want to put it on record that the Senator Elect worked relentlessly to ensure victory for our party in the just concluded governorship elections but his efforts could not yield positive results because our governorship candidate was not saleable but was only imposed on the electorate. It is therefore not only laughable but criminal for a group of mischief makers to accuse him of engaging in anti-party activities during the last elections.

“What further exposed the group to the fact that they are not members of the APC is their ignorance of the fact that the APC constitution only gave the ward party executive the right to suspend or expel members. We urge the general public and party loyalists in the southern senatorial zone to disregard the purported expulsion of our Senator Elect as it is the handiwork of some mischief makers who are bent on destabilising the party on selfish grounds.

“We wish to use this opportunity to inform you that the Senator Elect is already discussing with one of the APC Chieftains, Chief David Sabo Kente and other stakeholders from the southern zone with the view to reconciling all aggreived members to ensure unity of the party in the Zone for the success of the party in future elections,” The chairman expressed.
