Bunu assumes as 33rd Zamfara CP
CP Mohammed Bunu, has officially assumed duty as the 33rd Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command. This followed the latest redeployment of Senior Police officers by the Inspector General of Police.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Bunu was born on 6th June, 1964 in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno, Borno State. He attended Gubio Primary School in 1970 1976 and between 1976 1981 he attended Government Secondary School, Monguno, in Borno State.
After completing his primary and secondary school he was admitted into the prestigious University of Maiduguri in 1981-1986 where he was graduated with BA (Hons) ISLAMIC STUDIES/HISTORY. He also obtained MSc in public Administration.
In 1992 the CP Mohammed Bunu was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet ASP and was trained at the Nigeria Police Academy Kaduna annex, where he was successfully passed out on 4th December, 1993 and was posted to Niger State Police Command where he served in several capacity.
The Commissioner of Police has attended many Courses/ Workshops and Seminars within and outside the country which includes;

O/C Anti-Robbery Section Niger State Police Command from Apr, 1997 Nov, 1999.
Divisional Police Officer in many Divisions in Niger State Police Command.

When he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police he served at different capacity including;

Area Commander Mubi Adamawa State Police Command 2016.

ACP Investment Co-operative Lagos 2019.
At the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, he held the following positions;
DCP State CID Plateau State Police, Jos 2019-2022.
DCP DOPS Zone 10 Sokoto on 7th Sep, 2022 30th Dec, 2022.
When he was promoted to the amiable rank of Commissioner of Police, due to his capability the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc+, NPM, fdc, CFR deemed him fit and posted him as the 33rd Commissioner of Police Zamfara State.
