Gombe Transition Management Committee urges Permanent Secretaries, Directors to brace up
The Gombe State Transition Management Committee says it has urged Permanent Secretaries in the state to brace up as they carry out dual responsibilities in their Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the chairman Dr Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, after the committee’s interactive meeting on Wednesday.

Recall that Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, on 26th May 2023, dissolved his cabinet and all political appointees, excluding statutory Boards and Commissions in the state following the inauguration of his second term in office.
Dauda said its interactive meeting was with all Permanent Secretaries and overseeing directors of various ministries, departments and agencies in the state.
The statement partly read, “A major objective of the interface was to provide permanent secretaries with an overview of the responsibilities and duties of the Transition Management Committee, as well as to inform them about the roles and responsibilities expected of them during the transition period.
“During the meeting, a number of issues regarding handover reports submitted by various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies were discussed extensively and measures that need to be taken to ensure that MDAs resubmit robust and detailed reports were identified.
“Moreover, the Committee emphasized to them that they have to put a great deal of effort into their dual roles as acting chief executives and accounting officers of the MDAs so as to make sure the government business doesn’t suffer during this period of transition.”
While assuring the permanent secretaries about the readiness of the Transition Management Committee to work assiduously towards addressing the multifarious challenges facing their MDAs, the Committee appealed for continuous cooperation of the permanent secretaries and overseers throughout the transition period.
