USAID State2State Activity presents IGR Expansion Strategy, Communication Strategy to beneficiaries
The Internal Revenue Generation Expansion Strategy and Communications Strategy developed by the Gombe State Revenue Service, and Ministry of Information and Culture supported by United States Agency for International Development State2State Activity Gombe Field Office, were on Wednesday presented at the respective offices of the benefitting Ministry and Agency.

Presenting the IGR expansion strategy at the GIRS office, the Gombe State2State Team Lead (STL) Alhaji Mohammad Abubakar, said IGR is a core public financial management component of State2State activity, hence the support to develop the strategy to boost the revenue base of Gombe State.
He said the IGR strategy will also aid in looking for avenue not explored before so that the state revenue would improve and grow.
The STL said State2State Activity is happy to be part of this development and that it doors are always opened for further partnership and collaboration saying the activity’s aim is to strengthen sub national governance .
Abubakar appreciated support of the Gombe State Revenue Service and the State Government accorded to the State2State Activity and hoped that the IGR strategy would be implemented.

Receiving the strategy ,the Executive Chairman, Gombe State Internal Revenue Service Alhaji Salisu Baba Alkali, expressed gratitude to State2State Activity for the support to develop the strategy, adding that it would help greatly in revenue collection and increase.
He said the revenue service had already started implementing part of the strategy which has been of help in achieving the service’s mandate.
Alkali said he has intimated the governor on the IGR strategy and that the governor had expressed eagerness to support the strategy.
The Executive Chairman said by June, full engagement with the strategy will commence noting that the service would contact the State2State in case of any emerging need for technical support.


At the Gombe State Ministry of Information and Culture,the State2State Team was received by the Commissioner, Mr Meshak Audu Lauco, and top officers of the ministry.
Presenting the Communications Strategy, the STL Abubakar, said the strategy is to improve communication amongst Ministries Departments and Agencies, as well as the citizens
He added that it is also to improve government responsiveness to citizens’ needs and priorities
The Gombe State commissioner of Information and Culture, while receiving the strategy, appreciated the State2State activity for the support saying that the strategy would serve as a guide for information officers (IOs) to effectively disseminate Information to the populace.
He said, “it will also help Information officers to know the right form of communication especially in respect to Public Finance Management, Conflict Management and Mitigation and other governance Reforms.”
Lauco promised to implement the strategy, stressing that it would go a long way in enhancing consistent information activity within the ministry, between the ministry and other MDAs.
