Why? Because I am a certified criminologist and security professional with a radical background in futurology otherwise known as future studies. As a Student of Criminology and Security Studies with background in futurology I firmly believe that the problems of insecurity and re-insecurity in Nigeria will never be eradicated by APC in Nigerian political action.

However, it is important to give a brief explanation on the term “futurology”. So that the reader of this write up can understand the philosophy behind my article on the possibility of ending insecurity and re-insecurity in Nigeria with the APC in power or PDP as opposition in Nigerian political process.

Below is the brief explanation of the term “futurology”.= Future studies (or futurology) refer to the philosophy, science, art and practice of postulating possible, probable and preferable futures and the worldviews and myths that underlies them”.

This discipline aims to understand what is likely to continue, what may change, and what is new. The methodologies supporting futures studies seek a “systematic and pattern based understanding of past and present” and an estimate of the likelihood of future trends and events. The term future is used here because there are many possible futures, and these include those futures influenced by the actions (e.g. insecurity versus controlling the uncontrolled cases of insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria, war versus preventing war) or inactions (e.g.,doing nothing or using unsuitable or not enough to control the widespread of insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria).

Based on the above background. Therefore, please be informed that my confidence in this article are guided by the following questions:

1. What is likely to continue?
2. What may change?
3. What is new?

Going by the stated above framed questions as tools of this discipline (futurology). However, I can boldly say that the problems that are likely to continue in Nigeria under the leadership of APC in Nigerian political action are re-insurgency and re-terrorism. While, what may change in Nigeria under the leadership of APC in Nigerian political action is a system of squandering the public funds in terms of war against insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria. Whereas, what is new had been postulated by me but will be released by me in mine subsequent article on this topic for the readers of the write up to read it.

Comrade Musa Ali Maishanu.
A criminological and securitical futurologist.
