Your Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, as the Executive Governor of Delta State, you have embarked on commendable initiatives and displayed leadership in addressing key issues. However, in order to achieve long-term success and deliver sustained dividends of democracy to the people of Delta State, it is crucial to shift focus towards effective policy making. Drawing inspiration from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s accomplishments at the national level, it is time for Delta State to embrace a policy-oriented approach to governance.
Harnessing the Power of Policy Making:
Policy making serves as the backbone of successful governance, providing a roadmap for development and progress. By formulating well-structured policies, the Delta State Government can tackle pressing issues, such as socio-economic challenges, infrastructure development, and attracting investments. It enables a systematic and strategic approach towards achieving the state’s goals.
Inspiration from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu:
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated the power of policy making. By signing multiple bills into law, the President has positively impacted the lives of Nigerians. While there may be concerns regarding the fuel subsidy removal, which affected fuel pump prices, it is important to recognize the overall positive impact of President Tinubu’s policies. By taking a leaf from his book, Delta State can achieve similar success through effective policy implementation.
Tackling Multiple Taxation and Encouraging Investment:
Your efforts in summoning the local government chairmen to address the issue of multiple taxation deserve commendation. Recognising that excessive taxation can deter investors, you have taken a vital step towards building a strong and investor-friendly economy. To further enhance this, the Delta State Government should establish clear policies that streamline taxation processes, promote transparency, and ensure a conducive business environment. By doing so, investors will be encouraged to contribute to the state’s economy, leading to job creation and economic growth.
Infrastructure Development and Accountability:
Your commitment to inspect ongoing road projects and the rehabilitation of the Warri Stadium reflects your dedication to improving the state’s infrastructure.* _It is essential to maintain a focus on timely project completion, ensuring quality workmanship and the use of reputable construction companies. Addressing the persistent challenges surrounding the Achala Ibusa Road project is crucial. By awarding contracts to reputable construction companies like Julius Berger Construction, RCC, MCC, Niger CAT Company, and others, the Delta State Government can ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, avoiding delays and cost overruns.

Your Excellency, as the Executive Governor of Delta State, you have already demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people.However, by shifting focus towards policy making, Delta State can unlock its true potential and achieve sustained progress.
