Abia State Deputy Governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu, on Friday,  warned traders and business owners raising illegal stalls in undesignated areas in the state.

The deputy governor made this known to traders when he paid a visit to Ariaria International market, Ekeoha Shopping Center and other business centers in Aba.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of traders who trooped out en masse to receive him at the Ekeoha Shopping Center, Engineer  Emetu, notified them that the State Government led by Dr Alex Otti, has directed the immediate dissolution of all existing market committees in Abia State and has also announced the suspension of all form of levies.

He reiterated that the present administration would not tolerate those building illegal structures on prohibited areas.

Some of the traders who spoke to our correspondent, Mr Innocent Chinedu and Mrs Chinasa Onu, thanked Governor Otti for coming to their rescue and promised to give him all the necessary support and cooperation for him to succeed.
