Again, ASHENEWS reporter selected for 2023 AFYMP Fellowship
Barely 74 hours after the ASHENEWS reporter was shortlisted for the 2023 Wakaso Award for Young Female Journalists in Niger state, the Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals on Saturday, again announced the same ASHENEWS reporter, as one among several other fellows, who will be joining its 2023 annual Young Media Professional Funded Media fellowship program.

Fatima Zahra Muhammad, was selected under the 2023 Disability and Inclusion in the Media Fellowship, a project which focuses on increasing the visibility of marginalized voices in the media.
The fellowship, which is a yearly funded media project, was introduced to strengthen, empower and position next-generation, early-career journalists across Nigeria and Africa.
The six-month-long program, mostly virtual mentorship, will begin with a two days intensive in-person workshop that will take place in four major cities in Nigeria, including Abuja, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Ibadan.
With funding from MacArthur Foundation and Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Reporting, the fellowship offers training for fellows in the areas of Media Entrepreneurship, Campus Journalism, Women in Journalism as well as inclusion Reporting.
