Popular skit maker, Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, widely known as Trinity, has been remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The court order came in response to allegations of sexualizing a minor in one of his viral skit videos.
Earlier, the Nigerian Police, represented by Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had called for the arrest of Trinity following the circulation of a video depicting dangerous pranks.
In a statement released by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday, it was revealed that both the skit maker and the parent of the young girl featured in the viral video were questioned by the Command and were scheduled to appear in court on Monday (today).
During the court hearing, Trinity’s defense counsel, represented by Olúdáre Adebayo, requested bail for the defendant. However, Magistrate PO Adetuyibi denied the bail application, citing the ongoing investigation by the state Ministry of Justice into the allegations against the skit maker.
The court further ordered the remand of both Trinityguy and the parents of the little girl until the next court session.
The Magistrate adjourned the case until July 11, 2023, for further proceedings.
