DRR Camp Commandant visits Gombe NSCDC Command

The Commandant of Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration camp Colonel Abiodun Johnson, has visited the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe in the promotion of peace and security.

Our correspondent reports that the DRR Operation Safe corridor in Malam Sidi, Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State, is a transit camp where repentant Boko Haram members are reformed.
According to statement made available by NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer DSC Buhari Sa’ad, this was part of discussion between Johnson and NSCDC Commandant Achir Abraham, when he visited the command’s headquarters.
Speaking, Commandant of DDR, Operation Safe Corridor Col, Johnson, expressed gratitude to the State Commandant for the reception.
While expressing his appreciation the statement partly read, “We wish to commend NSCDC’s commitment to safe guarding critical infrastructure and maintaining peace and order.”
In his response, Commandant Abraham lauded his counterpart’s effort especially at ensuring inter-agency collaboration.
“For recognising it as a testament to the military’s commitment to fostering inter Agency cooperation,” the statement added.
Sa’ad’s statement disclosed that the courtesy visit concluded on a positive note with all parties expressing enthusiasm for future joint initiatives and strengthened partnership.
