Gombe Athletics Association tasks Govt on training Game Masters

The Gombe State Government has been tasked to allocate a portion of the budget of the Ministry of Education to organise a workshop for the School Game Masters in the state.
The call was made known by the Chairman of the Gombe State Athletics Association, Ahmad Shu’aibu-Gara, while speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day train the trainers workshop for Gombe Local Government Primary School Game masters held at the Gombe State University ICT hub.
According to Shuaibu-Gara, organising a workshop for the Game Masters at least twice a year would go a long way in reviving sports activities in primary and secondary schools, adding that it will serve as an opportunity for the students to get some basic skills required in sports activities.
Shuaibu-Gara noted that the Gombe State Athletics Association has decided to organise a training session for Game Masters ahead of the 1st Gombe State Inter Primary School Athletics Championship that will be held soon to achieve success.
The Chairman urged the participants to be proactive and focused on their training guaranteeing them the best experience considering the number of competent resource persons grabbed to handle the workshop.
He commended the organising committee for the job well done which was made up of members both within the association and Gombe Local Education Authority, charging them to redouble their efforts to achieve success in the forthcoming 1st Gombe State Athletics Championship.
In his speech at the occasion, the Executive Secretary, of Gombe Local Education Authority, Malam Abubakar Baba, praised the Athletics Championship for the first time in Gombe state, assuring his full support and cooperation.
