Gombe Govt pledges continued support to NYSC
The Gombe State Government has reiterated commitments for continued support to the National Youth Service Corps in the state.

Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, made this pledge when he received in audience the newly posted State Director of NYSC to the state in his office on Thursday.
Welcoming the NYSC boss, Njodi stressed that the need to provide the scheme with a befitting and modern Permanent Orientation Camp necessitated the State Government’s resolve to construct one which is at the verge of completion, to be used for the twin-purposes of Citizenship/ Leadership’s Training Centre and NYSC Orientation Camp in Boltongo, Yamaltu-Deba local Government.

He said the State Government under the able leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is working towards the immediate actualisation of the permanent site noting that, “What remains now is the construction of additional hostels which very soon will be completed.”
Speaking further, the SSG said, government would continue to provide an enabling environment at the temporary orientation Camp directing the Ministry of Youth and that of Education to immediately forward to his office all that would be required for rehabilitation of affected structures as a result of windstorm recently for government action.
The SSG added, “Considering the importance of the scheme and the advent of the rainy season you should without delay to my office forward requirements for the repairs of destroyed structures as a result of windstorm for government’s action.”
Earlier, the new NYSC State Director, Mr Dawut Jidda, had recalled with delight the antecedents of Njodi, the Secretary to Gombe State Government during his tenure as Vice-chancellor University of Maiduguri as well as his impactful contributions as Secretary to Gombe State Government in the last four years.
Jidda who expressed appreciation to government’s tremendous support to the NYSC over the years further appealed to the State Government for more especially as the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course draws near.
He noted that the NYSC is dependant largely on the State Government to perform it’s statutory responsibilities grooming future leaders of Nigeria.
The NYSC Director used the occasion to passionately appeal for the rehabilitation of some structures recently destroyed by windstorm at the temporary orientation camp at Amada, Akko LGA.
