A yet to be apprehended Alhaji Auwal, was announced by the Gombe State Police command to be on the run after collecting N650,000 to boost business, while Ibrahim Adamu, was nabbed at his residence.
Briefing journalists on Monday, Gombe Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, said the suspected doctor, collected the said sum from two Taraba business men; Yusuf Haladu and his friend Isa Musa both from Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Abubakar disclosed that the money was given by the duo to Auwal for the sake of boosting business transactions in Taraba, adding that trouble began when there was no positive effect having carried out the offering.
According to Abubakar, an attempt to forestall further demand for refund led Auwal to contract Ibrahim Adamu, a 65-year-old to put human parts in the duo’s business premises.
Abubakar said, “Yusuf Haladu, and his friend Isa Musa, all of Bali LGA of Taraba State came to Gombe State to meet Alhaji Auwal of Gombe who is now at large, through one of their friend Abbas that the said Alhaji will pray for them to see more success in their businesses.
“The said Auwal collected the sum of N650,000 from the complainant. After sometime, the complainants having seen no improvement in their businesses demanded for their money back, then the said Auwal now gave one Ibrahim Adamu aged 65 years old of Dukku Local Government Area human parts to put in their properties.”
He disclosed that investigation into the matter is still on disclosing that upon its visit to Auwal’s abode, “Ibrahim Adamu of Bagadaza Quarters was also arrested at Auwal’s house with some traditional charms some sands from grave, one white cloth which they use for their devilish work. Effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects while investigation is still on going,” Abubakar added.
