The newly installed General Secretary of Evangelical Churches Winning All International, Rev. Asheshe Ayuba, in company of State CAN Chairman, Rev. Alphonsus Shinga and other ECWA top-notches have visited the Deputy Governor of Gombe State in his office assuring him and the Government of continued synergy and support for the benefit of humanity.

The General Secretary of ECWA in company of CAN Gombe Chairman Shinga and other ECWA Pastors were in the Deputy Governor’s Office where they prayed for the Governor, Deputy and Government of Gombe State for successful governance, peace and unity towards cohesion, progress and development.

Ayuba noted that after his installation as the new General Secretary of ECWA recently, his first outing and official assignment is in Gombe State where coincidentally is the place of his birth theologically, having started his theological journey in Bible Theogical College Kufai, Billiri Local Government Area of the State.

He recalled the impact the duo of late Rev. Onesimus Maikenti, and Rev. Dr. Siman Bitrus had on him while in the Theogical College Kufai, expressing delight that, if they were alive they would have seen how their labour of love has yielded fruit making them great men in life.

He also appreciated the Deputy Governor’s efforts and contributions to ECWA, Christianity and to humanity in his commitment and support to ensure the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya succeeds in meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
“I know your door has always been open. But I plead with you to continue to leave it open. Leave it open for us, so that whenever we need your audience, we will get you. This will make you to succeed in governance and in all your endeavours,” he said.
He said he was in the state for an official function in Bore District Churches Council, Billiri Local Government Area and seized the opportunity to come and pray with him as well as condole him over the death of his brother in-law, a retired pastor with Waja DCC, Balanga LGA who died recently.
He prayed Almighty God to comfort the family.
Receiving the Guests in his Office, the Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, appreciated the visit and the prayers being offered by religious bodies pointing out that, prayers have been the reason for successes recorded in Gombe State, and the nation.
He lamented that the strange things that are happening now are signs of the end times and fulfilment of the scriptures.
He said, “we are seeing things that we have not been seeing before. That some Churches are approving same sex marriage and some people who don’t want to work but want to eat more than those that are working against the provision of the scriptures which says” if anyone does not work same shall not eat” is very strange. Religious bodies should continue preaching more of morality for things to be right.”
The Deputy Governor appreciated the visit and prayers, and prayed God grants them successful event in the state and safe return to their destinations.
Earlier, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe State Chapter, Shinga welcomed the General Secretary of ECWA to Gombe State and informed him that the Deputy Governor has been so supportive to CAN activities in the state.
