A renowned Criminologist Musa Ali-Maishanu, has reacted to purported appointment of Nuhu Ribadu, as National Security Adviser by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in a statement made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA on Sunday, Maishanu said although NSA required experience, adding previous occupiers have not been devoid of requisite trainings.
According to him, for Ribadu or anyone else yet to be appointed for the position should replace conservative and liberal approaches with radical approaches.
The statement partly said, “Nuhu Ribadu can only deliver as NSA to the President of Nigeria if he can replace Conservative and Liberal Security Approaches with Radical Security Approaches.
“Because the widespread of insecurity in Nigeria are not related to lack of experiences of the so-called heads of security apparatuses in Nigeria or a debate on who should be the NSA either from the military industries or para-military industries rather the focus on what should be done to address the widespread of insecurity in Nigeria should be on a Methodological Security Swap or Architectural Security Reformation in Nigeria.”
Maishanu disclosed that without deliberate attempt nothing would be achieved, “For example; from specific security measures to generic security measures . However, in the absence of swap nothing can be done by Nuhu Ribadu on war against insecurity in Nigeria,” the statement added.
