PDP Donga youths demand appointment of party loyalists in Taraba
A group, identified as PDP Chamba Youths of Donga LGA in Taraba State, on Wednesday appealed to the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, to consider the loyalists of the Peoples Democratic Party in the area for appointments.
The group made the plea in a letter of complaint dated June 19, 2023 addressed to the Governor of Taraba State, Kefas, and made available to Journalists in Jalingo.

The letter explained that it was imperative to draw the attention of the Governor to the proposed list of nominees from the Chamba axis within the PDP in the Donga local government area to be considered for appointments.
“Truth be told, 80% of them were engaged in anti-party activities during the last elections. Some of them were seen buying votes for the APC openly and did not participate in the processes that brought PDP to victory. We are surprised as those who worked for His Excellency AGBU Kefas and the Party were not mentioned on the list.
“The first proposed list they submitted included the following; Hon. Taninga Binga, Commissioner nominee; Hon. Joel Sungbaa, Commissioner nominee; Mr Paninga Billeya, Commissioner nominee; Mr Nuga Gargea, Chairmanship nominee; Hon. Garleya G. Suntai, Chairmanship nominee; Mr Gamuga Nyondamuga, Chairmanship nominee; Hon. Hassan Garduya, Adviser nominee; Hon. Panunga Bobga Jila, Adviser nominee.
“From the above list, only Hassan Garduya did not engage in anti-party activities. The list resulted in serious protests by the Chamba youths who never knew some of them in PDP. After much agitation, some names were dropped and the following names were re-submitted; Taninga Binga, Commissioner nominee; Joel Sungbaa – Special Adviser nominee; Pan8unga Bobga Jila, Special Adviser nominee; Garleya Gambo Suntai, Chairmanship nominee.
“We outrightly reject this lopsided move to impose these persons on us even as there was no wider consultation before their nominations and in the interest of our Party. Some of them did not meet the 80% youth requirements of His Excellency.
“Your Excellency Sir, below are those who worked and stood for the success of the Party who meets the requirements for appointments;
Hon. Col. Hassan Garduya (Rtd), Hon. Dinsheya E. Nungala, Hon. Yakubu Suvala, Hon. Salmanu Sani, Hon. Adamu Gana, Hon. Abbass Ahmed Tigye, Shimfoga Samaila, Lebiya Eli Gbana
Bobzom A. Gargea and many others whose names may not appear here because of space.
“We pray our plea will be graciously considered while thanking you in anticipation,” the letter alleged.
However, a stakeholder in the area who did not want his name in print or air told our Correspondent that those behind the selection of the nominees list are working for the opposition party, the APC for it to take over the leadership of the State come 2027.
He also alleged that the same people have worked for APC with the hope to secure appointments if Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, becomes the Governor in 2023 but now that they have failed they are back to being financially equipped ahead of the 2027 elections.
“As His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, promised to consult stakeholders including the youths for him to appoint people of integrity and 100 per cent PDP loyalists, I urge him to stick to his words because here in Donga local government we know the people that worked with their resources and energy and have never engaged in any anti-party activity since they registered with the PDP,” he added.
