Youths Service and Innocent Nigerian Students
Abdullahi Junaidu
It’s obvious and clear how Nigerian public university system suffered and still suffering in the hand of some unpatriot and incompetent leaders who have zero concern over the plight of the masses in recent years. The condition worsen to the extreme during the last 8years administration where the longest and worst ever strike was recorded.
All these are neither the innocent students fault nor their dilapidated institutions error but foul and lackadaisical attitude including wickedness from the side of those in the corridor of power who always scream of no source to fund public education but they know how to find fund to loot and embezzle from various sources while their children are there enjoying their luxury and proper education abroad with no threat of strike.
We are not envying their children studying abroad as even fingers are not the same in size but let us enjoy a proper domestic education as well, stop oppressing our education system and let us enjoy our fundamental right as citizens !
The worst part of all the saga is during Youths service corps, many of the overage graduands of recent years happened to be incessant strike victims while it’s actually not their fault, and in some juicy and milky govt slots it will be enshrined that only those below 30yrs and served youths service bla bla bla as a requirement for the offer. With this, it’s likely to be a plot against the poor masses to always be dominated in favour of the nation’s elites children and wards !
In recent years, 2-3 academic sessions were successfully wasted for nothing than strike while it’s already counted in the students overall age but deducted from their graduation year and no one cares !
National Youths Service management, ministry of education and Nigerian leadership should bring to their table the matter of this inconsiderate 30years limitation for serving our dear nation.
National assembly and other relevant stakeholders should also rise this motion in the chamber if they really have an iota of concern over the plight of innocent Nigerian students that have been oppressed for so long
May our education system be reformed.
May God bless innocent Nigerian student.
May our imposed and optionless patient pays
