Gombe Timber traders seek Gov Yahaya’s intervention over impounded goods, vehicles in Taraba
…… as Gombe Govt vows to protect business of law abiding citizens
Gombe State Government says it remains resolute in its resolve to protect the business interests of law abiding citizens at all times.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, stated this when he received the leadership of Gombe state Timber Market Association.

The Association were at the office of the SSG to lay complaint of their goods and vehicles impounded by agents of the Taraba State Government for over two weeks thereby grounding their business with attendant hardships.
Njodi who expressed concern over the incident, empathised with them especially as it affects their source of livelihood and that of their families in such a critical time.
The SSG pledged to immediately forward their complaint to the Governor with a view to taking appropriate action with the Taraba State Government.

He called on them to remain calm and take it as a temporary setback adding that, “As government, we are worried about your situation and we will do everything humanly possible to come to your aid by engaging the appropriate authorities.”
Speaking earlier, the Chairman Gombe Timber Market Association Alhaji Babayo Habibu, said they were at the SSG’s office to forward a formal complaint to the Government of Gombe State under the leadership of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, to intervene and end their plight which has to do with their trapped vehicles loaded with Timber by agents of Taraba State Government.
Habibu said for the past two weeks their business has been disrupted by the unfortunate situation they found themselves which has to do with issue of revenue collection by agents of the Taraba State Government.

While appealing for Governor Yahaya’s quick intervention, the association also congratulated the Governor for his victory at the polls, the reappointments of the SSG, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi,The Directors General Media and Publicity Ismaila Ubu Misilli and that of Research and Documentation Dr Mua’zu Shehu, over their well-deserved reapportionment and prayed Allah to guide them in the discharge of their responsibilities.
