Jennifer Etuh Foundation builds World-Class Hospital Centre in Tula
……enrolls 1,000 underprivileged Individuals
The Jennifer Etuh Foundation, in memory of Late Mrs Jennifer Ramatu Etuh, has successfully constructed a state-of-the-art hospital centre in Tula, while also enrolling 1,000 impoverished and vulnerable individuals in the GoHealth scheme.
Mr Thomas Etuh, narrating the foundation’s vision, shared that his wife, Jennifer, expressed her desire for a foundation to be established before her passing, adding that she requested that all her assets be sold and invested in the foundation, leaving only a few pieces of jewelry for her children.
Moved by his wife’s dying wish, Etuh embarked on fulfilling her vision by building medical and skill acquisition centers in six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
The first centres were established in Odu, Kogi State; Kagoro, the deceased’s hometown; and Ifewara, the hometown of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The Tula center was established in honor of Mr. Joshua Kwato, whom Mr. Etuh described as a beloved brother and friend to the deceased.
Mr Etuh expressed gratitude to the people of Gombe State, particularly Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for their support throughout the project. He acknowledged the Governor’s hospitality, commitment, and promise to construct an access road to the hospital.
The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency was also recognised for their participation in the medical outreach, providing 85 medical personnel. Mr Etuh announced that 1,000 individuals would be enrolled in the Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, granting them access to free healthcare services through the centre.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, considering Mr Etuh as a brother, shared their longstanding relationship since their parents engaged in the cotton trade. He commended Mr. Etuh’s unwavering assistance to Gombe State when called upon, and promised to build upon the progress made. The Governor reiterated his commitment to providing healthcare services, mentioning the completion of the 600-capacity campus for the new school of nursing and the upgrading of the State Specialist Hospital to train consultant doctors in three medical specialties.
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, highlighted the lasting impact of Jennifer Etuh’s loving heart. She commended Thomas Etuh’s faithfulness in fulfilling his wife’s wishes despite the challenges faced, expressing that love for God is demonstrated through love for others.
The Mai Tula extended his gratitude to the Foundation and bestowed the title of Dan Amanan Tula upon Mr. Thomas Etuh. He also thanked Mr. Joshua Kwato for leading by example in faithfulness and stewardship, benefiting the entire Tula community.
Taking the opening charge, Pastor Sarah Omankwu, Senior Pastor of the Family Worship Centre in Abuja, described Late Mrs. Jennifer as a humanitarian whose life and death were testaments to love and service. Pastor Omankwu, also Vice Chair & Trustee of the foundation, highlighted the various medical facilities and educational initiatives undertaken by the Jennifer Etuh Foundation.
Hon. Paul Obed Shehu, the Representative of Kaltungo and Shongom Federal Constituency, expressed his admiration for the Jennifer Etuh Foundation’s remarkable and timely efforts. He urged others to emulate the Foundation’s endeavours.
The Jennifer Etuh Medical Centre situated on a 6.5-hectare site, boasts a comprehensive range of facilities, including an Outpatient Department, Consulting Rooms, Pharmacy, Ultrasound Room, Neonatal Care Unit, Delivery and Recovery Rooms, Male and Female Wards, a Theatre, a Laboratory Unit, Ambulance Services, an Administration and Accounts Unit, and a Chapel with a seating capacity of 100.
The dedication and achievements of the Jennifer Etuh Foundation serve as an inspiring model for others to follow, as they contribute to the welfare and healthcare of underprivileged individuals in Nigeria.
