Just In: Gov Yahaya sends list of Commissioner-nominees to Gombe State House of Assembly

In keeping with the 60 days constitutional provisions, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, has submitted list of Commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for approval.
Secretary to the State Government Professor Abubakar Njodi, personally transmitted the list of the nominees to the clerk of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rukaiyatu Jalo, for onward unveiling by the Speaker, Abubakar Luggerewo.
Our correspondent couldn’t confirm the number of nominees, as at the time of filing this report as the house is expected to unveil the list later at plenary.
Meanwhile, based on the recommendation made by in the report of 2023 Transition Management Committee chaired by Dr Ibrahim Daudu, on 17th July, 2023, the governor is expected to reduce the number of ministries from 21.
Recall that in 2019, Yahaya had reduced the number of ministries from 27 to 21. If the committee’s recommendation is anything to go by the list may have less than 21 names.
