Youlead360 Development Initiative launches WEIN360 project in North-East
…..four states in the region, 10 LGAs benefit
Youlead360 Development Initiative Nigeria, a Non-Governmental Organisation on Thursday launched WEIN360 project model in Gombe.
Our correspondent reports that the launching was held at Centre for Micro Enterprise Development Limited in Gombe State, with support from Rural Resilient Activity of Mercy Corps.
The project which is a Direct Sales Agent model would empower no fewer than 2,100 youths, women and Persons With Disabilities in four states and 10 Local Government Areas in the North-East of Nigeria.
The states’ and LGAs include Adamawa,(Gombe,Song, Yola-south); Borno(Biu, Kwaya-kusar); Gombe (Billiiri, Dukku , Funakaye) and Yobe (Damaturu, Potiskum).
The Youlead360 Team said participants were carefully selected through their community entry through the Local Government secretariat, traditional leaders and other stakeholders in all the various states.
According to the Team, the selected participants were captured in Commcare App Database, noting that it was done geared towards getting the best participants selected and quality database.
“They were later trained in life skills and business development training (Communication, leadership, Financial Literacy, Records Keeping, Investment) for them to be able to understand the project model.
“We are offering since we are moving from Recovery to Resilient knowing how the Insurgency devastated the North-East,” the Team added.
While planning for the launch the Team said, “we also embarked products sensitisation training for the 50 selected participants from all the 10 LGAs in the four interventions states for the first phase of the project, which was launched with partners Nestle, Halilco Food, Chime Food, Difan, Moniepoint and PalmPay.”
In his address, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Youlead360, Mr Amin Ma’ori, while launching the products advised the 50 selected participants that attended the launching to take advantage of the business model Direct Sales Agent to better their lives and business looking at the economic reality that is facing the people in the country.
Speaking, Miss Anita Doorshima from Mercy Corps, urged the selected participants to utilise the opportunity given to them in the project, “As an organisation we will continue to support women, youths, PWDs in the RRA project,” Doorshima said.
Also, the Gombe Emirate Council, represented by Ciroman Ubandoman, Gombe Alhaji Abu-ubaida Muazu, encouraged the selected participants to make good use of this rare opportunity to make progress in their lives and communities.
He lauded Youlead360 for the initiative, he also advised for collaboration with Ministry of Health, “because some of our partners household goods are nutritional base like Date power and Sterling Acha of Chime Foods,” he added.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the launch was attended by the Police, Ministry of women Affairs, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, National Orientation Agency, North-East Development Commission, Gombe Emirate Council, they all eulogised Youlead360 for the good work in the region.
