Coalition writes President Tinubu, wants compensation of loyalty in Taraba
A group on Tuesday anchored by Alhaji Bashir Bakari, All Progressives Congress Chairman Jalingo Local Government Area and Chairman of forum of 16 LGAs Chairmen in Taraba State has pleaded with the President Bola Tinubu, to compensate loyalty in the state.
In a letter obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA which had endorsement of individuals, support groups, its urged Tinubu to compensate hard work, commitment and dedication.
According to the letter, Mohammed Mustapha deserves to be appointed by the President owing to his numerous contributions to the electoral victory of Tinubu/Shettima administration.
The statement partly, “It is in the light of this rare quality of sacrificing for others, that we draw your attention to the remarkable trait of sacrificing for others in the larger interest of the Party as exemplified by the contributions of our brother and compatriot who is a political activist like yourself, one-time President of the famous Ahmadu Bello University Students’ Union Government and National Convention Chairman, National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Mohammed Bello Mustapha Esq fondly known and called Barr. MB Mustapha.
“MB Mustapha served as Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Taraba state during the last Presidential elections.”

PASSIONATE PLEA FOR OUR DEAR PRESIDENT TO REWARD LOYALTY, HARD WORK, DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT IN APC TARABA STATE
Once again, on behalf of the teeming youths in Taraba state APC, we wish to congratulate your Excellency on your emergence as the Chairman of ECOWAS Heads of Government, which is not a mean feat given the strategic position Nigeria occupies in Africa and the black world.
Your Excellency, this is more of an SOS message and a call to get your kind attention to resolve the seeming years of broken promises to us in Taraba state and especially the younger elements of our great Party in our dear state who have studied your years of struggle in the trenches of pro-democracy struggle, your man management and talent hunting skills as Governor of Lagos, your sacrificing opportunities at other times before now to ensure that new lessees emerge within the spheres of Lagos politics.
It is in the light of this rare quality of sacrificing for others, that we draw your attention to the remarkable trait of sacrificing for others in the larger interest of the Party as exemplified by the contributions of our brother and compatriot who is a political activist like yourself, one-time President of the famous Ahmadu Bello University Students’ Union Government and National Convention Chairman, National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) Mohammed Bello Mustapha Esq fondly known and called Barr. MB Mustapha.
MB Mustapha served as Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Taraba state during the last Presidential elections. And it is on record that for the first time in the history of Presidential elections since 1999, a Situation Room was set-up (fully equipped with modern IT Gadgets) for the Presidential elections in Taraba state by the immediate past minister of Transportation Muazu Jaji Sambo, who doubles as the APC/PCC Coordinator. Sambo also funded the campaign from beginning to the end.
The Situation room was manned, handled and successfully coordinated by Barr. MB Mustapha, which was one of the reasons why the APC in Taraba was able to surpass all expectations to score about 30% of the total votes cast in the Presidential polls. It may interest you to note that, this feat is no mean feat given the fact that pundits have already given up hope on the possible performance of the APC in the state, moreover, some of the principal actors in Taraba APC openly campaigned and voted against the APC.
It is therefore safe to say that the engine room of the APC during the Presidential elections was Barrister MB Mustapha.
We are shocked that people who have longer legs have outrun him to Abuja to receive reward for what they actually did not work for. Rubbing this obvious shortchange of a young man on us collectively totally kills the morale of the younger elements in our political party to work assiduously for future successes.
Your Excellency, this letter is not borne out of a spirit of un-sportsmanship because we do understand that Mr. President reserves the rights under Section 147 to choose Ministers from the 36 states of the federation. We are emboldened to report this act that shortchanges a hardworking individual because we believe you can right the wrongs of the years past just as you have for the first time since 1999, considered, recognized and included the Abuja aborigines into your cabinet.
Your Excellency, Barr. MB’s acts of sacrifices and foregoing positions dates back to 2014 when he was prevailed upon by Party leaders and elders to step-down from contesting the post of National Secretary of our great Party, the APC. He was also prevailed upon once again by the North-east leaders of the Party to step-down for Comrade Mustapha Salihu to Occupy the office of the National Vice Chairman North-East in 2017 after the exit of Mr. Babachir David Lawan. Also, in 2018, eminent leaders of the Party particularly and most importantly your humble self, your Excellency Mr. President prevailed on him again to step down for His Excellency Mai Mala-Buni and was refused the opportunity to replace Buni after his resignation to contest the Governorship of Yobe state even though as first runner-up at that Convention, he had the right of first refusal and could have gone to the Courts to distract the Party but he chose not to do so in the interest of the unity of the Party.
Again, at the 2022 Convention, Barrister MB Mustapha aspired to the post of Chairman of the North-East zone of the Party but was again told by Party leaders to allow Salihu Mustapha occupy the office, after campaigning vigorously for the office of the National Chairmanship of our great Party, The APC which was later micro-zoned to the North-Central.
For the avoidance of any doubt(s) as per the past participations and contributions of Barrister MB Mustapha, he was:
* The Pioneer National Youth Leader of The Buhari Organization (TBO), 2001;
* Gubernatorial Candidate of the CPC Taraba State, 2011;
* Initiator of the Buhari-Tinubu Joint-ticket written in three different articles titled Significance of The Buhari/Tinubu ticket I & II in the 2011 General elections published in 2010 and the Imperative of Buhari/Tinubu Ticket in the 2015 General Elections published in 2014;
* Member of the Merger Committee (CPC/ACN/ANPP/fraction of APGA);
* Member of the Constitution Drafting Committee;
* Member/Secretary, Ekiti State 2018 Governorship Screening Committee;
* Member 2022 House of Representative Screening Committee;
* Chairman National Assembly Primary Election Appeals Committee, Plateau State, 2022;
* Member, APC/PCC North-East Contact and Mobilization Committee;
* North-East Chairman and Taraba State Coordinator Tinubu Lungu-Lungu Movement;
* Coordinator, TINUBU/SHETTIMA APC/PCC Support Groups in Taraba state for the 2023 General Elections.
Your Excellency, we recall with great nostalgia that in the year 2019, Mr. Babajide Kolade Otitoju (BKO) of the TVC’s Journalists’ Hangout fame pointed out the open and well-known schemes against Barrister MB Mustapha after he was denied the chance to replace H.E Mai Mala-Buni as APC National Secretary.
Your Excellency, our prayer is that this young man whose hardwork, loyalty, dedication, commitment and sacrifices cannot be disputed by any member of the APC family both at the state and the National level who is properly informed of the undercurrents within the Party during the last Presidential/National Assembly elections, ought to be recognized and compensated adequately, to serve as encouragement to the millions of genuine followers of our great Party who are disenchanted by the current happenings within the Party at the National level. Rewarding Barrister MB Mustapha will greatly restore hope and confidence in our great Party and the capacity of Mr. President to identify talents and reward hardwork as we have already been made to believe judging from Mr. President’s antecedents as Governor of Lagos state.
Your Excellency, we look forward to a most fruitful response to this genuine plea even as we wish you good health, sound wisdom and above all, Allah‘s guidance as you discharge your duties to our great Nation.
