The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, has expressed confidence that one day Nigeria will attain the level of greatness and the people of the country shall be united to face common challenges to achieve common goal.

The Deputy Governor who was addressing a gathering at a civic reception programme organised by Adamawa State Government in honor of immediate past Deputy Governor, Chief Seth Crowther at Pwanobato Recreational Centre Numan, Adamawa State said, achieving greatness and unity shall be possible only if the people are ready to avoid differences of political, religious and party affiliations and together face common enemies.

Jatau also said that, the calibre of people who attended the ceremony is a testimony that Nigerians will one day unite and confront their problems together because it is only on such basis that development could be achieved.

” In good time let me convey the goodwill of our Governor , Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, Dan Majen Gombe, and the good people of Gombe State to the Adamawa State Government and it’s people for honouring their immediate past Deputy Governor over contributions made to the development of Adamawa State. Gombe and Adamawa States are like identical twins who share many things in common. Our being part of this gathering is a testimony to that, and we consider it as our program.

” May I also express our Joy and happiness that the calibre of people who are here today today, coming from from different political, religious and tribal affiliations shows that one day we shall shed off our difference and face our common enemies towards achieving our common goals. With this determination Nigeria shall surely attain the level of greatness, if we are ready to continue like this,” he added.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri represented by his Deputy Professor Kaletapwa Farauta said, the event was organised to celebrate people who contributed to the development and progress of Adamawa State and humanity while they are still alive.

She said the former Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, deserved to be celebrated for stepping aside for her to be elevated to the position of a Deputy Governor, an action that could be expected only fron people with large hearts and commitment to the good of the people.

She appreciated the spirit of brotherhood exhibited by Crowther and expressed optimism that the development would foster more love and understanding between the Bwatiye people and Adamawa State.

She used the opportunity to call on people living along river-banks to take refuge in safer places because Adamawa is listed among states that will be affected by flood, while also warning them against selling their farm produce.

Deputy Governor of Borno State Usman Umar Kadafur, who led a high powered government delegation said, the people of Borno and Adamawa States share common social, cultural and political antecedents therefore they consider themselves as brothers and sisters, hence coming to be part of the event.

The Chairman of the occasion Architect Lawrence Ngbale, described former Adamawa Deputy Governor, as a man with great mind having relinquished this exalted position just to safe the people of Adamawa and his party from political defeat.

In his vote of thanks, the former Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Chief Seth Crowther, appreciated the honour done to him by the Adamawa Government, the Bwatiye people, and the Governments of Gombe and Borno States.

He warned those who want to see the Chamba nation also known as Bwatiye people divided because of politics to desist from doing so, also cautioning the Religious and Traditional institutions to shun partisan politics and operate within the confines and purview of their jurisdictions.

Goodwill messages came from family, friends and associates as well as cultural entertainments.
