Gombe receives new Commandant of NSCDC
….says govt ready to partner security agencies to combat crime
The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, says government will continue to support and collaborate with security agencies in the state to maintain the peace, secure the lives and property of citizens.

The SGS stated this when he received the newly posted commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps Mohammed Bello Mua’zu, in his office Friday on familiarisation visit.
He said it was the desire of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to bequeath a state where the people can sleep with their two eyes closed without fear of any form of threat to their lives and property.

Professor Njodi explained that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps is a member of the state Security Council with valuable contributions each time meeting is conveyed by the state Governor to assess security situations in the state.
Njodi, “The security we enjoy here as a state is not by accident it is because of your commitment and the commitment of other security agencies, we have since noticed that,and we need that peace if we have to survive that is why everybody including the trouble makers are finding Gombe comfortable to come and leave.”
The SSG urged the security agencies in the state to redouble effort towards curtailing all form of criminality especially the resurgence of kalare activities in the state.
Earlier, Mua’zu, said he was at Government House to formally introduce himself as the new head of the outfit in the state.
He pledged to work assiduously with his officers and Men in collaboration of other sister security agencies in the state to bring to bearest minimum the rate of crime and criminality in the state.
He noted with dismay activities of some miscreant in the State assuring of his plans to create a rapid response unit to be sited in some strategic places to help in curbing the menace of criminals
The newly posted Commandant of the NSCDC solicited for logistical support from the state government as the command is finding it difficult to attend to distress calls due to inadequate operational vehicles.
