Gov Yahaya’s ex-aide seeks palliatives for students
Immediate past Special Assistant to the Gombe State Governor, Lakwanjang Saidu, has appealed to the Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, to consider students in the distribution of palliatives.

Saidu made this plea in a press statement issued to PERISCOPE NIGERIA on Wednesday.
Recall that Yahaya on Wednesday concluded the first phase of 30,000 palliatives distribution at the Gombe Emir’s palace ground.

Our correspondent reports that the members of the palliatives committee since last Monday that the distribution was commenced by Governor Yahaya, in Yalmatu Deba, toured nine other Local Government Areas providing relief to poor and vulnerable households.
According to Saidu, the governor has antecedents of being students friendly, stressing that his track record speaks loudly.
The statement partly read, “From my little experience, I have these pieces to say about Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the chairman Northern States Governors’ Forum.
“He’s a students’ leader and friendly, a leader who’s results oriented, a leader with focus, a leader who doesn’t believe in hearsay but work with facts and figures as one who has worked with you and still believe in your well defined agendas for the masses. Sir, as a students’ leader who has served in various capacities and still believe in your good plans for students of Gombe State and by extension the Northern Students’ forum under your watch sir, I wish to write and appeal for your kind approval for some palliatives also to the students currently in schools under pressure to reduce the effects subsidy removal on the students sir.
“To address the impact of subsidy removal on Students currently in various institution of learning. Sir, this kind gesture if approved will go a long way considering the current economic instability in the prices of various Student’s friendly foodstuffs and other basic necessities that will prove or rather enhance good learning environment for the benefit of us all. As a state, because I believe when all other factors that will cause stability in learning is provided then the future of our children and us all will be safe.”
