JEDC alerts Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau States of eight-hour outage from Monday
The management of Jos Electricity Distribution PLC on Saturday, alerted Gombe, Bauchi, and Plateau residents over impending irregular power supply from Monday to Saturday.
Disclosing this in a press statement signed by its Head, Corporate Communications, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, while urging for patience and understanding said the outage was following attempt by its contractors to connect beam of APO line to Lafiya line-Jos.
According to Elijah, the connection would affect power distribution for six days between 9am to 5pm daily.
“JEDC wishes to inform its esteemed customers in Bauchi, Gombe and Plateau States of a planned outage by TCN to enable its EPCC contractors safely connect gantry beam of the new APO line to the existing Lafia line-Jos 330kv double circuit.The scheduled outage will commence and end as follows;Date: 28th August to 2nd September, 2023, Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm daily,” Elijah’s statement partly read.
He further urged customers to bear with them, stressing that it was geared towards serving its consumers better, “Please note that there will be an increase in load shedding during this period as the 330KV Jos complex will remain on supply via Kaduna-Jos 330KV line. We, therefore, urge our customers to kindly bear with us as we strive to serve you better,” Elijah added.
