Njodi reiterates Govt’s determination to work with traditional institution
The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has reiterated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s determination to work in synergy with traditional institution being custodians of culture and tradition and the closest to the people.

Njodi gave the indication while addressing the overseeing Senior District Head of Gombe Alhaji Usman Shetima, alongside other District Heads of Gombe Emirate council in continuation of his interaction with traditional rulers across the state, following Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s, approval to move chieftaincy matters to the SGS’ office.

He informed them of the recent development of moving the chieftaincy matters from the Local Government Ministry to Government House, saying the idea is for administrative convenience as well as to bring them closer to government because of their strategic role in the society.

He enjoined them to always co-operate with government, ensure peace in their domains admonishing them to always work as a team.
On loyalty, Professor Njodi said the government expects nothing less than hundred percent loyalty from the traditional institution adding that any act of disloyalty or insubordination to government policies and programs will not be tolerated.
In a remark the overseeing Senior District Head of Gombe who is also the District Head of Nasarawo, Alhaji Usman Shettima, appreciated Gombe State Government for the new development with regards to the changes in their reporting line from the Ministry for Local Government to SGS’ office, describing it as a good development and a more honourable one assuring of their support to enable the working government of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya succeed in its developmental stride.
It will be recalled that the Njodi had held a similar interaction at different fora with Akko, Yamaltu, Deba, Tangale, Dukku, Nafada and Funakaye Emirate councils respectively.
Present at the interactive meeting were the Chairman Gombe Local Government Alhaji Aliyu Usman Haruna and Director Special Services and Political Bala Sarki.
