Njodi’s traditional titles reach 30, as Kushi Community names him Zannan Kushi
The Kushi Community in Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State has conferred the traditional title of Zannan Kushi, on the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, in appreciation of his tremendous contribution to the development of the area.
Announcing the conferment of the title which brought to 30 titles conferred on Njodi nationwide on Friday, at a solidarity visit to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration.
The District Head of Kushi, Alhaji Ali Sarkin Bariki, explained that Professor Njodi has been a pillar in the development of the Community, especially in the provision of support and opportunities for youths of the area in their pursuit of education.
Bariki recalled the magnanimity of the SGS in securing admission to about 12 applicants in the area at a go, while serving as Vice Chancellor of University of Maiduguri.
The elated Distinct Head also cited a case of one indigent student who Njodi sponsored from undergraduate to post graduate at the University.
Dr Nathan Gandi, and Alhaji Sadiq Abubakar, speaking separately reiterated the Community’s indebtedness to Professor Njodi for his numerous contributions to youth empowerment in the state and Kushi Community in particular.
They also said the show of love and compassion of the SGS to the Community has endeared them to overwhelmingly support Governor Yahaya’s reelection in the 2023 elections.
The speakers further commended Yahaya for his wisdom to reappoint Njodi for his second term.
In his response elated Professor Njodi, appreciated the Kushi Community for recognising his contributions maintaining that in everything he does human resource development remains key.
While accepting the title, Professor Njodi commended the Kushi Community for its support to Governor Yahaya’s election victory in the 2023 Governorship election and assured them of government’s planned reward for every support.
On their request for employment of youths with various levels of educational qualification in the area, Professor Njodi assured that like every section,”The state government will continue to create level playing field for all citizens to aspire and contribute to nation building,” Gombe Scribe added.
