Palliatives: Garba Chede residents hail businessman Iro, over prices slash

The residents of Garba Chede, a small town in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, known for its entrepreneurial activities have applauded a man identified as Alhaji Ibrahim Iro, for cutting down prices of goods in his shop to enable the residents afford them.

He stated that with the economic hardship and hike in prices of food items, he felt the need to help the poor by reducing the prices of his goods to 50 per cent .
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the Bua Pasta (spaghetti) usually sold at N450-500 is sold at N250, a bottle of palm oil sold at 600 is sold at 200naira and even the sachet water popularly called pure water is sold at ten naira.

Iro who owns a pure water factory called Ragorde table water sells even a cold water at the price of ten naira.
This was confirmed by Jesse Akumo Bala, who said, “even when pure water is hitting a high price, this man chose to sell his pure water at ten naira…and he will make sure it is cold before selling to you.”

A lot of people troop to Iro’s shop to enjoy the discounts and “palliatives”, our correspondent reports that he promised to sell 400 cartons of the spaghetti at the same price of N250.
Another resident, Adamu Jibril, disclosed that many who benefitted from the slash were happy and excited, adding that they continued to pray him as many Muslim faithfuls assured the Philanthropist of a reward in heaven by Allah for his act of kindness.
“May Allah raise more like him, may he enjoy good health and long life and may Allah grant him more wealth and protect him from evil,” Jibril added.
